Yours Naturally: Beauty That Grows on You is a national photography exhibition produced by award-winning photographer Jason Miccolo Johnson. The exhibition celebrates the beauty of women who wear natural hairstyles. It will change not only the way they see themselves, but how others perceive them. The touring exhibition, consisting of 30 – 45 large-scale color photographs, highlights contemporary hairstyles that enhance the natural beauty of its wearers.
The photographs feature women throughout the African Diaspora of various ages, sizes, and complexions. Women representing a variety of professions are photographed in the studio as well as outside locations. They are shown involved in leisure activities and in corporate settings as well as in familiar public settings. Yours Naturally offers an extraordinary opportunity for women to have conversations around issues of health, fitness, nutrition, self-esteem, and beauty standards, particularly as it relates to their hair.
